A fabulous addition to my wardrobe!! For some reason I had overlooked buying this item, maybe the photo did not do it justice, then I tried one on (grey) in the store. Well..... that was it!! I had to have more, and tried to get the pink that was in the store but not in my size and then I ordered another one in black immediately from your website. Thank goodness you had my size. These tops are beautifully soft and so versatile, especially under the Helix vest. Congratulations Icebreaker!!You have done it again with the perfect top. May 1, 2015
Great Thermal top I have been very impressed by this shirt in terms of keeping me warm on very cold days through handling the sweat on warmer days. In terms of the latter, I experienced no under arm smell like I typically have with other thermal tops. February 3, 2015
Keeps this cold blooded girl toasty I am often cold in our 1880s high-ceilinged house, particularly in the winter time, but the other day wearing the 200gm Oasis Long Sleeve Half zip I had to roll up my sleeves and was still warm! I love how warm this keeps me without feeling like I am wearing much at all. And it is very stylish as well, at least IMHO. February 2, 2015
Perfect fit I needed a new baselayer for winter/everyday wear. This top exceeded my expectations. The fit is perfect and feels really cozy. It is warm enough under a jacket yet still lightweight enough to wear under a heavier layer. And the color (blue) is absolutely gorgeous. February 1, 2015
Great Piece, but not what I was looking for I've owned the Everyday Long Sleeve Half Zip for several years, back when they didn't even make the Oasis. I was never quite sure what the difference between the two was, until I bought this. I've used the Everyday LS top as a snug base layer, either under a cyciing jersey, or while running (I don't like things flapping in the breeze, and I am slender). The everyday fits snug, but not crazy tight like a compression piece. The main differences between the Oasis and the everyday are (1) the Oasis does not fit as snug and (2) it feels as if the Oasis is made of a slightly softer wool (hence the price premium I guess). The Oasis also has a nicer/bigger zipper tab. You could wear the Oasis out for dinner, but the everyday fits more like a tight athletic piece, you'd probably wear something over. It's excellent quality, and I would recommend it to a friend, but for a different purpose than the everyday piece. If you are not slender, then the Oasis may fit snugger, and be a better choice. Functional and Stylish I wore this hiking. I have sensitive skin so I worried about a wool garment against my skin. This shirt was smooth and comfortable. The print is nice enough to wear as a casual shirt, not just for running or hiking. January 22, 2015
Good layer in freezing weather The Oasis half zip is a great layer in our freezing cold temperatures. I will also enjoy it, I'm sure, in Spring & Fall temperatures. January 17, 2015
Approved for freighter travel Just spent 25 days on a freighter trip across the Atlantic and through the Great Lakes - at least half my clothes were Icebreaker. It's comfortable, warm, lightweight, seldom wrinkles, and dries quickly. Perfect. Freighter-approved by me. January 16, 2015
great base layer when cycling When the temps are in the 50s to 60s in Southern California, I use this as a base layer when I'm on long cycling rides. I put a thin short sleeve cycling jersey over it and perhaps also a light windbreaker. As time passes and the temps rise, I can unzip at the neck (and also zip down or remove the windbreaker). When I'm finished with the ride and sitting with friends for coffee or lunch, I remove the cycling jersey, and then I'm wearing a nice merino jersey that has no offending odor! December 29, 2014
This Shirt Did it All First wore the Oasis Half Zip under a rain shell during a drive through a series of storms along the east side of the Sierra headed for a ski resort. When I arrived six hours later, I replaced the shell with a ski parka and skied in the Icebreaker all afternoon. Left it on for dinner replacing the parka with a jacket. Designed for cool weather? The Icebreaker Long Sleeve Half Zip served me all day long! And I skied in it all the next day. Lightweight, no odor after intense activity, kept me warmer than advertised, with a perfect fit. great thing I bought one a three years ago and was perfect. My favorite. I used them for ski, hiking and work. Great stuff. December 13, 2014
Great base layer for winter hunting! I wore this shirt as a base layer last weekend on a 9 hour hunting outing, hiking up and down rugged Montana terrain in 9F degree temperatures. It kept me warm, dry, and comfortable, and it looks great! Highly recommended. December 4, 2014
Great baselayer This is truly a great baselayer, that is very snug under any thick hoodie and keeps me warm when it is freezing outside. I like it so much, that I sometimes wear it as a pullover itsself. The color is very striking and the fit is great. November 28, 2014
very good base layer I wore this shirt when I was skiing in -15. My fice was freezing but my body was so warm. amazing! February 15, 2014
Versatile shirt - hiking, walking, riding I ordered this shirt years ago and wear it so much, due to comfort and style, that my old shirt has a few holes. I reordered this shirt and although the comfort level is the same I do NOT like the printed logo on the sleeve. When possible I always remove exterior labels from my clothing but that is not possible in this case. February 1, 2014
Torn -- is it running gear or great post run gear? I've been wearing this as post run gear since it arrived to shed out of the wet running kit and get warm. It's great. It's warm, wicks away the sweat, and I warm up really quickly. I keep thinking I should run in it, as a great base layer. But I keep thinking about how comfortable it is post run. All very confusing. Excellent Base Layer Perfect base layer for all winter outdoor activities! Very close to the skin to keep you warm but very breathable at the same time. December 17, 2013
half zip...half amazing Perfect base layer for sub-freezing conditions. Perfect fit...soft and comfy. Def. need to stock up on more colors in this piece cause this winter (in Chicago) prom ices to be a long and cold one. December 16, 2013
Great shirt; wish I bought more! I read a review of Icebreakers in a Sierra Club mag…from last year, and ordered a few things as gifts & for me. I love this shirt. I've worn it 4 times and it doesn't smell yet. I'm finally washing it today so we'll see how that goes. The fit is great. Just snug enough, and enough stretch to move comfortable. I love the color too. (green) December 15, 2013
versatile top. Great top. I wear it to bed, I wear it to work out, I wear it with my favorite white pants. Very cozy. Perfect weight. December 15, 2013
My "go to" shirt for layering I wear my Oasis Half Zip under sweaters, sweatshirts and other icebreakers. It is warm and comfortable without the bulk. And you really can wear it for several days before washing. December 15, 2013
Ready to Hunt Bought this for the upcoming bow season. Haven't tested it in the woods yet, but have worn it around the house to try out. It's a comfortable fit. The 1/4 zipper is great in helping regulate your body temperature - very helpful when going from periods of activity to sitting still for awhile. The only possible drawback is that it doesn't have a thumb-loop option. The camouflage pattern looks great too - can't wait to try it out in the woods! Would definitely recommend. December 13, 2013
xmas present bought this for my mom for xmas. The color is beautiful and it's a nice looking shirt. I'm sure she"ll love it. How could you not love IceBreaker for Xmas. December 13, 2013
Through the wringer Sizing is good I suppose I got size L im 6'2" 210, its v tight but xl is HUGE on me. My main issue is its very short, i cant tuck it in anywhere and if i bend over in the slightest it rides up my back. I used to wear it at work while I was all the way up North in a site office and even sitting at a desk after a half hour it would be halfway up my back, not keeping me toasty. Its expensive so I was expecting the best, unhappy that its not perfect. December 13, 2013
Nice shirt, very fitted I usually run between a small and extra-small in Icebreaker (5'5, 118 lbs) depending on how fitted I want the item. For base layers I often go with xs but this was very fitted. I probably would have exchanged it for the small, since I like the color and style but I was not crazy about the large Icebreaker logo on the shoulder, so I returned it. I like my clothing to be versatile, and the logo gives this top too sporty a look. Plus I'd really rather not be a walking advert. December 3, 2013
A shirt for almost any occasion! This shirt is my new favorite piece. Lightweight and super soft. I am 5'7" 115 lbs with a 34 A bust, Small fits really well without being restrictive. XS fits fine too, but I prefer a little room. I have worn this running, bouldering , hiking and even paired it with a skirt and boots and wore it to work. So versatile, just what I like in a piece of clothing. November 5, 2013
The Morning Commute I commute downtown to work everyday and this is the perfect layer for the early morning chill in the air. The sleeves have plenty of length and the 1/2 zip allows me adjust as I warm up on the ride. I am 5'8" & weigh 155 pounds so I bought a size large. It is still slim fitting but allows me to add a cute t-shirt underneath so I am good to go at the office. I have the light gray color so it teams well with black or blue jeans. I love how I can stuff it in my backpack, taking up very little room, then pop it back on when the weather invites me to with that winter chill. October 21, 2013
Love the top but don't like being a walking advert I live in Icebreaker products for most of the year but I have to say I'm Not impressed by the obtrusive, bright white "rubber" Icebreaker logo on the shoulder area of the left sleeve of my new Oasis long sleeve half zip. I ordered on-line and it wasn't visible in the picture or I wouldn't have purchased it. Otherwise it is exactly what I wanted, so I am disappointed that this non-essential detail makes the top less versatile and so conspicuously sportswear that I can't also wear it on a more formal occasion as I normally might. October 18, 2013
Go To Running top Bought this last spring (2012) in dark purple-love it. It's the perfect top layer for early Canadian spring or fall running and an even better base layer for a Canadian winter! (running or skiing) Tight fit so maybe buy a size up if you aren't sure/want a loose fit. March 19, 2013
I am in LOVE with this shirt!!! I absolutely love them! They not too hot or too cold. I have been wearing silk longjohns for years and just now switched to IceBreaker wool. Oh man, I will never go back. I realize they are a little spendy but I'm telling you, they are absolutely worth every penny!! After I have been wearing them for a few months, I will write another review :) December 25, 2012
Great layering piece I love this. It keeps me warm when I go out bike riding in the morning (40 Degrees). It's soft and the wool is not scratchy at all. Best of all, you don't have to wash it every time you sweat! It's a bit pricey, compared with others you could get at sporting goods store, but trust me, this one is worth every penny! Try it and you'll see the difference. There's no comparison. September 21, 2011
