Too short for taller women I recently visited an Icebreaker store to find some termal bottoms for an upcoming trip to Europe. The two pairs I went with I am extremely happy with (Vertex 260mg & Pace 200mg). However I tried this pair on and thought taller women would appreciate my comments. I am 175cm tall/ 60kg. I am usually a small in Icebreaker products as I am quite slim, however I found the small in these leggings was far too short (and the medium was too loose around my legs and hips). As they are more of a hipster fit there is not any room to pull these down. I just knew that I would be endlessly trying to adjust these to be the right length, which would be very frustrating. Taller women, my recommendation would be the Vertex 260mg and the Pace 200mg leggings as a longer alternative. October 31, 2015
Good quality, but new version has tight waistband I am normally between size XS and S in Icebreaker (my waist is 26"). I like a loose fit, so I ordered a size S, which the size charts says is for a 27.5" waist. But the waistband is tiny, barely over 25 inches around! Plus, it's a low-rise fit, so the waistband hits several inches below the actual waist. I can't stand anything binding around my waist, but I tried them on anyway. As expected, they fit fine except the waistband was just too tight for comfort. I wonder if Icebreaker forgot to account for the low-rise when they choose the diameter of the waistband? My hips are 30" right where the waistband hits, so I went ahead and ordered a size M. Maybe that will work (though I'm worried the legs will be huge). I'm disappointed with Icebreaker's new waistbands, but am happy that Icebreaker has a great return policy. I'd still recommend this item for people who like a very tight fitting and extremely secure waistband, or for anyone whose hips are slimmer than their waist (apple shape, but not pear or hourglass shape). These are so comfy! I have 3 pairs of Icebreakers leggings and these Oasis ones are my favorite. They're smooth in texture, thick enough to wear alone, and warm but not too warm. I hike, camp and fish, and these keep me comfortably warm through all. I highly recommend. October 19, 2015
Initially disappointed, but excellent warranty. I wrote the earlier review about holes appearing in my Oasis leggings. I was pleased to be contacted promptly afterwards with information about the warranty (which I hadn't known about) and I was promptly able to process a claim for them. Knowing that I can get a replacement if I have issues pretty much fixes my problem, and I am glad to know that Icebreaker stands so firmly behind their products. My leggings (and my daughters) are fast-drying, look great, feel great, and they are comfortable to wear and move around in. If you want clothes for use and reuse day after day with only a hotel room to wash and dry in, these are your babies. October 1, 2015
Did not last two months. I had two pairs of Oasis leggings delivered on July 7th, and it is now August 19th, just over a month later. One of my pairs is fine, but the other inexplicably has two holes in the butt - not even along the seam, where I might expect holes. I am very disappointed, as they feel fantastic, and fit really well. I am 5'2", 165lbs, got an XL, and they are just a little loose. The material is soft and light, and I've worn these for quick-dry road trip pajamas, rollerskating, and hiking, and they've kept me warm/cool by turns and wonderfully comfortable. Unfortunately, I just can't justify buying more with this price tag when they get holes so easily. August 19, 2015
Butt seam rocks my world I have Sprite and Everyday leggings as well, but the fit on the Oasis is the best. I think it's the strange butt seam? Better baselayer for doing anything active due to the great fit and the flatlocked seams. August 8, 2015
Portland Oregon Rower I love Icebreaker! The leggings are long enough that you don't get cold ankles or have the waistband fall down on you all day (5'-10" 168lbs). I wear a large. Dries quickly and keeps me warm in the wet. Beautiful designs as well. What is not to love? July 19, 2015
Like a second skin These are so comfortable, I'm looking for more reasons to wear them in addition to running. The waist is high enough, the cut is super comfortable, and they are soft -- what more could you ask for in a legging? I love wearing these, and am actually a bit disappointed when I've got to take them off. July 17, 2015
All-purpose leggings I use these for running and biking as well as with nicer outfits and under jeans in the winter! July 12, 2015
Great value Size is accurate. I use them as lounge wear around the house. Also use them under skirts with boots for work in winter. This is my second pair. July 12, 2015
Oasis leggings The third pair I own. Can't get enough of it. Super warm and comfortable baselayer. The color and size suit me well. July 10, 2015
Leggings for all seasons These leggings are the most comfortable and temperature regulating I have ever worn. So comfortable on cool summer events and are light and comfortable under jeans in snow storms! The fabric is so light I forget I have leggings on! July 10, 2015
Lightweight, Breathable, Soft, Odor resistant.. I used these leggings while backpacking North Manitou Island in Michigan and they worked wonders! I wore them under hiking pants and they were a wonderful base-layer, providing warmth and comfort. I wore them 4 days hiking and I slept in them, as well. They did not smell one bit when I got home! Just make sure when washing them to hang them to dry (in the shade if camping). They are pretty sheer but they can be used as lounge pants but most definitely not leggings to wear out and about. Highly recommend them and they fit true to size. I am 5'4'', 120lbs and I wear a small. May 30, 2015
Great as a base layer or on its own warm and super comfy! So far no problems. Usually I wear an S but after checking their measurements I ordered an XS and it fits well. May 25, 2015
Good everyday legging Warm and soft, this is a good pair of leggings especially for under a dress for commuting via bicycle. May 8, 2015
Fulfills it's purpose Fit: I purchased these leggings in a size M and they fit but not like your typical leggings skin tight leggings. They loosen a bit but do not become baggy. these are my first merino pants and am getting used to how they fit. Quality: I've sweated in these, and worn them also for everyday wear and both times have stayed dry and still they do not smell! The fabric looks like it's pilled a bit but still feels smooths. Does anyone else notice pilling? Other than that I can see myself wearing these during hiking and camping trips. May 1, 2015
Good fit, great feel Fits true to size- XS is definitely XS and the length is perfect for a petite frame (I'm 5ft 4in). Feels great after a wash (but do not put in the dryer!). The only strange thing is that the wet fabric smells very much like a wet animal is hanging out in your room, since it's made from merino wool. April 27, 2015
excellent for warmth and layering Took these camping and they served me well! I was worried since I tend to have thicker legs but the fit was comfortable and warm. The leggings are thin (not bulky at all) and soft. They are too thin to wear on their own, but great for layering with other pants. April 21, 2015
Perfect for the cold These are incredibly soft and not at all bulky. They will be perfect for outdoor hiking and wearing under jeans and other pants. heavy enough to wear as leggings, but with a dress or tunic. April 12, 2015
For everyday casual wear I have size L. 4" longer would get them to my ankles.. I'm 5'8" tall. Fit better after worn for couple of hours.. Until then they pull down in back waist more.. I'm 150 lbs Like print and feel of material. I have another pair of Icebreaker leggings and they fit fine. April 12, 2015
perfect for spring skiing A lighter weight long john, perfect for under ski pants on spring days when you have every possible type of snow and weather during the course of a day, and sometimes even during a single run! Kept me warm enough, but not too warm. The only thing I wish were different is the waistband; I have a lower back injury and waistbands on long johns are always too tight and irritate my back. But I did not have to cut this one, they are indeed wearable as is. April 1, 2015
weird fit but very warm! The fit is a little weird - the waistband is a little tight, but then it is very loose and almost baggy between the hips and waist. I ordered the Everyday leggings in the same order and they have a similar fit, but not quite as extreme as with the Oasis. However, I notice it less and less the more I wear them. Not sure if this is just my body shape or a problem that others would have as well. Fits nice and tightly through the legs. Surprisingly, they are almost too short, even though I'm only 5'1". A little see through (maybe not the best choice for yoga!). I'll definitely be wearing them a lot, for running/skiing/etc. and also for everyday leggings. March 31, 2015
Great fit and the fabric is so soft that it does not seem like wool, but is. March 30, 2015
Slides from Season to Season I slide these on of a San Francisco morning, and in the course of an hour they carry me through three seasons (early spring when I first wake up, mid-summer after my exercises, and late fall when the fog starts rolling in); my leggings keep breathing, providing just the amount of warmth I need. March 29, 2015
Perfect underlayer First time skiing and was afraid of feeling too cold. This under layer was perfect, warm and kept the moist away. After a whole day of skiing it was dry and didn't smell. Used the same one for tree days and could've used 4 more days without any odor. I bought another one to use during the very cold days in notheaster. March 28, 2015
Nice baselayer Great neutral dark colour, nice shape and good stretchy waistband that doesn't dig in. The fabric could have been slightly more stretchy but the design still makes it fit curves well. Will be a very useful baselayer. March 25, 2015
Saviour Love these leggings! Have a pair of these and a pair of lighter ones, and wear them both all winter in Toronto. Nothing keeps me warmer and they're not bulky at all under jeans or pants. Other tights can be uncomfortable around the waistband but not these. Excellent product, and very comfortable. March 25, 2015
Love Them These are great. Soft and durable; I've worn them for nearly 30 miles of biking since I got them with no signs of wear (or odor!) so far. I just washed them because I felt like I should due to a week of exercising in them, but there was no smell. I haven't felt hot in them, and when the rest of my body was cool or cold due to a combination of sweat, wind, cotton and polyester, my legs were comfortable. The purple is super dark, I couldn't tell it wasn't black until I held a black garment up to them, but I like the color. The only thing I could wish for is a more even spin on the yarn; when stretched you can see dense and thin patches and spots in the fabric. This is due to the yarn being thick and thin. Overall though, I love them. March 25, 2015
Nice Fit I really like the color and the fit of my Oasis Leggings! The merino wool is a nice weight for wearing under my yoga pants and skirts! I am happy to now own Icebreaker wool leggings! I had heard from friends just how comfortable this base layer feels next to your skin, breathable and temperature regulating... March 24, 2015
Oasis leggings ,for coolnights Fabric feels pretty good and is lightweight. Keeps warm at night and fits under pants during day. Ordered M which by measurements is too large, but they fit perfectly first 2 days, then stretch some. This is first time wearing Icebreaker. Might get the S next time, as long as waistband not too tight. As the lower section at ankles did ride up calf unless wore socks over leggings. Also since am long torso and 5'5" was roomy though slight tight at low rear area. Would rather have a lighter or heather type color (any natural colors?) March 24, 2015
Great for sensitive skin I use these as my base layer for outrigger paddling. I have had no chafing or rash outbreak since using them under my 100% polyester leggings. I highly recommend them for people with sensitive skin such as excema. March 17, 2015
Just right. . . I got these leggings to wear under my waders for fishing and they are the perfect weight. Like all of my Icebreaker pieces. . .they are just right!!!Sun V March 17, 2015
my icebreaker sailing/motorcycling essential There are many reasons why I love the IB base layers especially for motorcycling, also the leggings. My criteria? Warmth insulation/breathability, natural fibre on skin (frictional heat if crashing!), easy to pack away, non-chafing, durable, easy care and layering for quick adaptation to changing temperature, non-odour (limited storage on a bike). Stylish gear is very welcome:-). That base layer meets all those criteria perfectly- either worn daily with biking jeans or functional touring gear. Soft, warm, breathable, non-chafing, (almost) no stink after a few days. Also due to the excellent quality of the wool. Being 180cm tall & long-legged, they end approx. 5cm above my ankle. Could they be longer? Yes, sure- but with OTC socks, that's ok. Long-term durability at exposed areas (bottom, inner thighs..) will show. Thanks, icebreaker! February 25, 2015
Snug but free The covered waistband is very comfortable without sliding off. The fabric slides easily over the leg, allowing full range of motion during exercise. The leggings keep a thin layer of air over the leg to hold in warmth; the fit is snug but free, like a well-adjusted wheel bearing nut. February 24, 2015
Toasty! Great leggings! Nice and warm but run a little big. I think I will have to actually dry these..I'm 5'4" 120lbs and the small gets a little bunchy. Need to get an XS next time! February 15, 2015
fun color Icebreaker Oasis Leggings fit me perfectly with my thin frame. The color is bright and fun as well. January 30, 2015
great fit I like these leggings because they fit perfectly. I'm 5'5" and 120 lbs, and usually long underwear comes way up to my rib cage (and I end up folding over the waist), but these are cut more for thinner people maybe. They rest nicely just below the belly button. Plus, the 100% wool provides for the best combination of warmth on those cold, winter days in New England and breathability during a backcountry ski adventure. January 29, 2015
Can't wait to use on another adventure! These are so comfortable and warm. I absolutely love them! January 22, 2015
These are a lovely material These look and feel absolutely lovely. I have tried on several of the competition's leggings, and I did not like them as well. These have a much smoother, finer hand to the fabric. Unfortunately, after I ordered these, and before I got them, I fell getting on my horse and broke my leg, so I have only tried them on one leg as the other has a soft cast, and I do not want to ruin them on the velcro :(. Cannot wait to get the soft cast off so I can actually try them on both legs. January 18, 2015
No more Sweaty - Snowshoer! Loving these for my snowshoe expeditions! Keep me warm and dry and at just the right temp. Also use them for running. Fabulous! They fit under everything...sometimes when I know my work building will be cold...I wear them under my dress pants! NOT Itchy!!! YES!! Good for high and low energy activities!! January 17, 2015
Oasis Leggings Great style and fit but just a little too short but guess I am taller than average at 176cm January 17, 2015
Can't live without these leggings! This is my fifth pair of Icebreaker leggings and they all have been fabulous! Nice to have new colors to try. They are great for layering, dressy or casual. January 16, 2015
great base I am 5'4" 137lb. I got the med and they fit great. They work great under jeans, better than the everyday bodyfit leggings in my opinion. They are see thru, so if you are looking for something to wear by itself and not as an underlayer then I would go for something heavier, January 16, 2015
Very good leggings baselayer Does an excellent job of keeping my legs warm without limiting my mobility January 16, 2015
just average I like these much better than the everyday legging. They are very comfortable everywhere except the waistband. The band is tight and low. I'm 5'2" and weigh around 120 and the band feels like a low rise... it's very uncomfortable, but you could get used to it, i guess. I will still try to use them as leggings under dresses when it's cold. The purple is a very dark color.. almost black. January 16, 2015
Warm leggings I received my pair of oasis leggings today and put them on as soon as I opened the package. The color is pretty much charcoal/black which is good for me. I did expect the color to be like the picture but the fact that it is closer to black is fine for me. I ordered large and I am 5'4 and they fit perfect length wise. I was worried that large meant would be they would be longer but they were not. For being a thinner fabric I can't believe they are so warm and comfy. Since they are a lighter fabric I would not recommend them for outer wear unless you wear a longer shirt or sweater to cover the rear section since the underwear pattern can be slightly visible especially if you have a bit more junk in the trunk! Otherwise they are perfect for lounging around the house or do short errands. They are thin enough to wear under jeans or ski clothes which is nice because they won't feel bulky. I would definitely invest in another pair should I need an additional set. Since I am from So. Cal, our winters are short and not frigid like other parts of the country. I would recommend a wider waistband since it does roll down a bit sitting down but it doesn't bother the quality of the product. January 7, 2015
Itchy :( I really wanted to love these, but I find Icebreaker leggings to be itchy. I've tried both the Oasis and Sprite leggings. I don't know why, because I wear Siren tops several times a week and also love my Swift pants. Maybe it's just me... I returned them with no problem. January 6, 2015
Awesome pattern, a bit short and un-stretchy Because these are patterned leggings I am comfortable wearing them as my only layer when hiking. They make a great layer under my rain pants, but if the rain lets up, then I'm totally comfortable hiking in just these leggings. I'd probably do the same for warmish-weather cross country skiing, but haven't done that yet. Compared to the "every day leggings" these run a bit short (I'd prefer them longer and I'm only 5'5"). They are also rather stiff - they pull a bit if I'm doing squats. It would be better if they flexed along with my movements. I hope Icebreaker comes out with many more patterned leggings. It's more fun to hike and lounge with patterned pants. My other complaint - I couldn't find a top to coordinate with these leggings. I did not want to get the camo top, that would be too much. I was hoping for a solid that coordinated, but no such luck. January 1, 2015
disappointed in the color The purple isn't purple. It's black. Besides that, they're just fine. But if I had wanted black, I would have purchased them elsewhere. I came here for the cuteness, but I left with something totally ordinary. I also have the Sangria (red) ones, and those are true to photo. December 31, 2014
best lightweight tights these are the best. they are so comfortable under your clothes you will forget you have them on, and so warm. icebreakers is the best wearing wool leggings of all the ones i have tried. traditional long johns were too uncomfortable for me to wear so I was always cold but now i wear my tights november - may. they are machine washable and hang dry quickly so with two pairs i am always warm. i have a heavier pair of 260 weight for outdoor winter sports. December 30, 2014
Finally warm and no itch. Over the years I've tried wool products that claim to be no itch, but they were always scratchy, well this Icebreaker Merino is truly comfortable! Finally my legs are happy and warm! I love these leggings, I immediately bought more so I never have to go without. They are super comfy, launder easily and I like the color. I bought the Medium and I like the fit (I wear a 10 in pants) but if you are a size 8 in pants or like a really close fit I'd go with a Small. I can finally enjoy the winter weather. December 16, 2014
Like the Kid Who Loves His Blanket I had another pair of Icebreaker leggings that I, sadly, lost. I replaced them with these Oasis leggings. I must say, I love them! They are very comfortable. The waist comes up high enough that I'm not constantly having to reach into my pants to pull them up. I like the stripes as they add some fun character when worn with a skirt. The only bad part is that I have only one pair! When they are in the wash, I'm like a child who sits by the washer waiting for his favorite blankie to be washed! I can't wait for them to be clean so I can wear them again! December 16, 2014
Legging love! Very comfy and warm. Fit is great, would purchase again! December 6, 2014
weird waistband overall, these are great leggings, and i find they fit under a variety of other layers, while still being very warm. but, i think the waistband is totally strange. i'd prefer a flatter, less elastic or non-existant band (like what used to be on the ultralight leggings.) December 2, 2014
comfy and fun amazingly versatile - can wear out with boots or in for a workout or under to be extra warm November 11, 2014
Cute and lightweight. Relatively short legs. Love the teeny tiny stripes. I buy these leggings anyways because they're good quality, but they're SHORT on my 5'9 long legged frame... I mostly layer for skiing or rafting and wear long socks to make up for it. Such a shame icreabreaker doesn't make a longer inseam. Weird too, because their shirts have longer sleeves than average... November 5, 2014
New, not improved I have a pair of older style leggings, and definitely noticed the changes in the "new and improved" fit. I am 5'10", 160 lbs, and after consulting the sizing chart, ordered a Large. The baggy "mom-jean" fit is gone, however the new cut is shorter in the waist and now creating a double whammy: "camel-toe" and "muffin-top". The leggings also are a bit short, above the ankle bone. Having long legs, I'm used to that, however I'm not sure I can live with the muffin top profile. I was hoping to wear them over tights and under tunics as leggings...can anyone suggest an alternative that fits high-waisted, long-legged gals?? October 25, 2014
Feels like silk I will probably never stop buying Icebreaker leggings - they are the best, and this one no exception. true to size and looks great under skirt and with boots. September 17, 2014
Great for sleeping and lounging Love these leggings for sleeping and lounging around the house. They keep me the perfect temperature, even in the summer. They take up minimal space in a suitcase, so I pack them for sleep in a cold/hot hotel room or for use under regular pants on a cold day. This winter I will try them out for skiing. I also have heavier weight Icebreaker leggings/long underwear that I have used the past few years for skiing and love. September 15, 2014
Great base layer I like to use these for camping and cold weather running. They are a great base layer to keep me warm. Note, I am only 5'4" and they are a perfect length for me. September 13, 2014
Leggings I have been waiting for these to become available in my size. Very happy with the quality and they are light weight. I can say the same about all of my Icebreaker gear. Can't wait to wear them when it gets a little cooler. September 13, 2014
Winter weather must have This year has been brutally cold. My old leggings just weren't cutting it. Got these and have been very pleased with their warmth and lightness. I can actually get snug jeans over them. I just wish the waist was a little higher. I am long waisted and these hit just at my hip. I keep trying to pull them up. February 12, 2014
Consider intended use and size before purchasing These leggings run a bit larger than expected. 5'5 120lb and I normall wear a small-medium in things but had to return for a size down. I live an active lifestyle cycling most places, which requires a lot of stretch and pull on the fabric. I don't think this particular item is up to the task of sports that require a lot of extended body movement. They might hold up to lighter sports, but really your best bet is to pick the Pace legging, which is stronger due to the seaming. These are very, very warm and comfy. I wear them in San Francisco for the winters. I like them but would have chosen another model of legging. If you are a person who spends all their time in leggings as a fashion and comfort issue, you will probably like these. I cannot wear synthetic leggings because they start to feel itchy and painful after a few hours, but I can wear these for a full day and have rarely felt uncomfortable. January 25, 2014
Love the print I am very pleased with the Quartz Oasis leggings. I have many Icebreaker products, including other leggings/long johns that are 150 weight. I purchased the medium and they are slightly baggier than my other pair of medium sized leggings, but they do fit and can be worn under tight jeans. These are a bit of a different fit than my 150's which do not have any seams across the back. Anyway, it's all good. A lot of my camping clothes are black and I wanted something different, so these are great. The image online looks teal-blue; in person they are more of a teal-green but still very nice. Surviving sub zero temps in Northern Minnesota Northern Minnesota is currently experiencing one of the coldest winters on record! The sub zero days are stringing together like the paper chain ornaments you made for your Christmas tree as a kid! These awesome Oasis Leggings have made going outdoors more comfortable and safe. January 3, 2014
at last, some that fit years ago I bought some icebreakers legging that were so comfortable, not tight at the waistband 100% merino. a few years later I bought another pair, but the waist band was skinny and tight. So it was a relief to order this pair and find they fit perfectly! Thank you December 22, 2013
Love Them I agonized over if I should get a small or medium. I'm 5'6'' and 148lbs. I wear a size 6 pant but after 3 babies in 3 and half years, I have a flabby midsection and I hate when stretchy pants sit too low or too high (under ribs). These hit just in the right spot and I got the small (although, I suspect a medium would have been fine too. They're definitely snug). They're a bit shear....I wouldn't wear them without a long enough top to fully cover your rump. And they definitely aren't long. The leg opening sits about an inch above my ankle bone. I also like that I can bend over and not have the slide down "plumber-style". The only thing I'd change is I wish they were about an 1.5'' longer, but I would still buy them regardless. Awesome~ly skimpy So... I love these pants. They are super thin, warm, fit under my Levi's skinny jeans when going out, snow pants in the hills and are fantastic for sleeping in your unheated house when its cold. I can only imagine they will serve me well whilst ice climbing. Liked 'em so much I went rock climbing in them, but was told by my climbing partner that WAY too much of my crotch was highlighted by the thin material... Apparently they are underwear? Need to remember this... December 17, 2013
Not a great fit; not enough stretch I bought these leggings in a small based on the size chart. I'm 5'4" and weight 119 but they didn't fit well. My legs are pretty muscular and there was not enough stretch in the legs to pull them up enough so the crotch fit properly. I could never have hiked in them. The crotch was about 2 or 3 inches too low. I thought a medium would have been too big in the waist so I returned them. Seemed like they were made for a more slender build. However, I loved the top I bought! I still love these products. December 15, 2013
Thin and flexible NOT ITCHY! Easy care and great warmth without being too bulky. December 15, 2013
weird fit but so warm These leggings are a bit of a weird fit, I normally have a small but opted for the medium based on the comments. The medium appears too big (slightly), espcially at the top, but after trying on the small, I decided to stick to the medium. Besides the fit, I love these. nice and warm, nice to wear under office pants all day a, as well as walks with my dog. They fit nicely under skinny jeans also, which is a huge plus. December 4, 2013
Amazing base layer for backpacking I wasn't sure whether to get the 200gm base layer or the 260gm for three season backpacking in the Canadian Rockies. I opted for the 200gm after trying them on in store and I am very glad I made that choice. These leggings are very comfortable for sleeping in a -7°C rated sleeping bag at temperatures falling below 0°C (there was frost on my tent); the following morning, I began my hike wearing these leggings under my pants and was not uncomfortably warm even after a steep 5 km climb. These are definitely the best base layer I have ever owned, and I highly recommend them! September 12, 2013
Snuggie This fits snugly. Would great to wear underneath skinny pants. I love the feel of it. It's thin but not extremely thin. Very warm pants. If you like less snug, size 1 up if you can. Don't like it? Love the return policy. August 3, 2013
loved but returned This are a great set of leggings, although, I did exchange them for a different style. My measurements suggested size small but I should've ordered a medium because they are very snug fitting for a curvier body. I wouldn't hesitate to order them again (in medium) when I need a second pair of leggings. January 16, 2013
