We couldn't have found a better athlete to model our Icebreaker_GT collection for Fall/Winter 09 in Mt Aspiring National Park than Gordy Watson. The wilderness area has been Gordy's playground and training ground for all of his life.

"Running, bike riding, kayaking - I've had some big adventures in those hills," says Gordy. "It's real beautiful, but it's a rugged environment and you can't take it for granted."
As well as adventure racing, Gordy runs a canyoning business and works as a fly fishing guide. He juggles his work in the outdoors with caring for his two small children, daughter Moana (Maori for "sea") and son Dart (named after the stunning Dart Valley, gateway to Mt Aspiring National Park).
Icebreaker merino is, says Gordy, ideal clothing for the fast-changing climate of Mt Aspiring National Park. "When my fishing clients ask me what they should wear, I always tell them to get some Icebreaker against their skin. It's warm even when it's wet. The socks are awesome out there, too - especially as there aren't many days when I dont end up with wet feet."
