The Speed Project

Speed is a Force of Nature

The road is unwritten. The rules, nonexistent. Just heat, grit, and miles of open desert.

The Speed Project isn’t just a race—it’s a raw, relentless test of human will. A challenge with no set course, no spectators, no rules, no sponsors. Just forward motion through day and night, heat and cold, doubt and determination.

As each runner takes on their next leg of the journey, they disappear into the shimmering horizon—chasing something beyond distance, beyond limits.

Out here, nature doesn’t just surround you. It defines you. That’s why, somewhere between LA and Las Vegas, you’ll find a team from Hamburg running in merino-blend layers that thrive in these extremes. Breathable in blistering heat. Insulating in the desert’s deep cold. Designed to move with the body—and not against the planet.

Speed is a force of nature.

The Runners

Sweat Club’s mission extends beyond the race itself. By sharing their journey and experience, the team hopes to inspire a global running community to reconsider their choices, embrace natural alternatives to synthetics.

As the runners take on the relentless miles from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, they will embody the power of human determination fueled by the best that nature has to offer, no compromises, just pure endurance.

Running since: A couple of time

Expert on: Finding the perfect song for the perfect moment

Biggest motivation: My biggest motivation is the journey itself—the shared experience with my team, the challenges we’ll push through together, and the memories we’ll create along the way. Every mile, every struggle, every moment of pure exhaustion will be worth it because we’re in it together. And in the end, it all leads to that one unforgettable finish—standing under the Vegas sign, drenched in sweat and a Champagne shower.

It's good for the runner to suffer. A TSP quote I really feel.

Running since: 2005

Expert on: Posting cheesy Reels on Instragram

Biggest motivation: I was never the sporty kid, but at six, my favorite teacher started a run club. My mom, shocked I wanted to join, bought me my first running shoes—that’s where it all began. I was always the slowest, but my teacher cheered me on. Over time, I got faster, learned to trust my body, and discovered strength in running. I love pushing past my mental and physical limits—especially with amazing people by my side. And, of course, I can’t wait for all the In-N-Out Burgers post-race!

Move your body, still your mind.

Thorben

Running since: Pretty regularly for about 12 months. I originally come from cycling and got into running through triathlon training. When the idea for TSP came up, I was instantly hooked.

Expert on: Walking into coffee shops, checking if the machine and grinder are solid—if yes, hell yeah; if not, I’m out - give me some water, please.

Biggest motivation: Give me some croissants, just a plain croissant, or maybe a cake. Pain au chocolat is always a good choice.

Import, export, running, cycling – et petit criminalité.

Tatjana

Running since: Used to run on the court as a pro tennis player – now I’m trading balls for miles. 15 years later, lacing up again for TSP. Been running since Oct ’24, so let’s call it a six-month sprint to the start line!

Expert on: Sunscreen, a good pair of sunglasses, and a heart rate that thinks it’s in a thriller movie – just the essentials for this running journey!

Biggest motivation: The people. The community, the shared miles, the unspoken understanding that we’re all a little crazy in the best way. The support, the inspiration, the friendships – it’s what keeps me going, far beyond the finish line. Also I’d never miss a good post-run feast.

Nothing tastes as good as strong feels. You gotta eat girl - fuel up that body!

Hannes

Running since: Since I want to explore terrain in my childhood.

Expert on: Striation free window cleaning.

Biggest motivation: To have the fitness and don’t get the stitch when I sprint to don’t miss the train.

Be considerate, grateful, treat everone with respect and if tiramisu is on the menu: always order it.

Running since: 2019

Expert on: I always find the most badass trails.

Biggest motivation? Hitting the casino and trying my luck!
