Wearing Merino in Summer
FEELS COOLER, WICKS FASTER, RESISTS ODOR
TEMPERATURE REGULATING
As odd as it may sound at first, merino wool is one of the most comfortable things you can wear in summer. Why? Because merino’s incredibly fine, lightweight fibers can absorb large quantities of moisture vapor and effectively transfer it (through evaporation) into the air. Merino also provides natural protection from UV light and UVB rays.
MADE TO BREATHE.
COOL-LITE™
icebreaker’s Cool-Lite™ fabric technology combines the natural comfort and breathability of merino with TENCEL®, a natural wood fiber made from sustainable eucalyptus. Capable of wicking sweat three times faster than merino alone, it’s a marriage of fibers made in heaven for those who want to be active, while staying dry and comfortable in the heat of summer.
SHOP COOL-LITE ™The TENCEL® fiber is a round cross-section with a smooth surface so when combined with the fine soft fibers of merino, it creates an incredibly comfortable soft fabric with beautiful drape.
Encourages evaporation to cool and dry. TENCEL® fiber is smooth and dry on the outside and holds moisture in its core, keeping the fabric dry to touch. The TENCEL® microfibers wick moisture through the fiber.
Bacterial growth on TENCEL® fibers is lower than on synthetic fibers, so unpleasant odor is minimized. TENCEL® also offers the best climate between textile and skin so the skin bacteria stays in balance.
TENCEL® is derived from the wood pulp of sustainably farmed eucalyptus trees. It’s also eco-friendly, thanks to the closed loop system where 99.5–99.8% of the solvent used to make TENCEL® is recycled.
